Sports Day 2019

27 June 2019 (by Jodie Binch (Jbinch))

Dear Parents/Carers,

Sports Day has finally arrived and it is looking to be a hot one!

The children will sit with their year groups on one side of a track with gazebos to provide some shade. Parents will be asked to sit on the opposite side of the track. Please feel free to bring fold up chairs or blankets to sit on.

Children will be required to stay with their classes at all times when they are not competing in a race, so the teachers can keep the children safe, but also so the children don’t miss their races.

The weather has been forecast to be very hot this week, please send your child to school with sun cream on and with some in their bag to put on throughout the day. Please make sure they have a hat and plenty of water with them for the duration of the event.

We are lucky enough to have an ice-cream van on site for sports day. This will be available for you to buy ice creams throughout the day. Children can bring money to buy an ice cream for themselves during the event.

Please send your child to school in their PE kit, black shorts and white t-shirt, on Wednesday 3rd July for Key Stage 1 and 2 sports day and Thursday 4th July for Nursery and Foundation sports day. If your child is not wearing shorts, t-shirt and trainers they will not be able to take part in Sports Day.

Key Stage 2 (years 3 to 6) Sports Day will be held on Wednesday 3rd July at 9:30 till approximately 11:30.

Key Stage 1 (years 1 and 2) Sports Day will be held on Wednesday 3rd July at 1:15 till approximately 2:45.

Nursery am Sports Day will be held on Thursday 4th July at 9:30 until approximately 10:30

Nursery pm Sports Day will be held on Thursday 4th July at 1:30 until approximately 2:45.

Foundation Sports Day will be held Thursday 4th July at 1:30 until approximately 2:45.

Please note: finishing times are approximate as there are many races to get through.

Many thanks,

Mr Derbyshire
