In school, we are increasingly needing to deal with friendship issues that are problematic due to Whatsapp messaging and group messages, where children are being unkind to each other. This is happening after school and affecting children wanting to come to school after an argument the night before. Some groups have added in contacts who are unknown to the children and we have been made aware that older teens and adults have also been added to groups.
The NSPCC have guidelines to help keep children safe on social media.
The following information is taken from their website.
What age rating is WhatsApp?

Please be aware of the recommendations for children for this social media platform, and others, such as TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat.
