Magna Science Trip - Year 3

14 May 2019 (by Jodie Binch (Jbinch))

We are organising a trip to the Magna Centre on Thursday, 18th July 2019. The cost of the trip will be £13.50 per child, which will need to be paid by 4th July 2019.

Our day includes Discovery Time to explore the museum including the four pavilions: Air, Earth, Fire and Water; our steel heritage: as well as taking part in a volcano and rocks workshop where we will be exploring how volcanoes lay down rock layers and learn to identify some common types of rock.

We will also be using modelling clay to track the classic vinegar and baking soda 'eruption', take a core sample through their model volcano and then test some real rock samples.

This educational visit will be for the whole day and we will be returning before the end of the school day.

Children are asked to bring packed lunches, for those children who have free school meals, these will be provided.

We will need children to arrive for 8:30 with a prompt leave at 8:45 to make the most of our day at the Science centre.

Thank you
