Invitation Letter

19 June 2020 (by Jodie Binch (Jbinch))

Dear all,

After speaking to many parents during “Safe and Well” calls, we recognise that many of our children, like children across the world, are missing the social interaction of their friends. Owing to lack of space in school, we are unable to offer child care to everyone; however, we would like to offer the following service for your children. We propose to use our large school field, on days when weather will permit, to host social distancing picnics for each year group. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate parents at this time- apart from drop-off and pick-up. Children can only attend when it is their year group.

We plan to run it as follows:

12.45 pm – children can be dropped off through the main entrance. Parents must leave through our one-way system through the bottom gate.

2.40 pm- children must be collected. Please enter through the main entrance and leave with your child through the bottom gate.

If your other children are currently in school, they can also be collected at this time.

Please send your child with picnic food. Please ensure your child has gone to the toilet before they arrive at school. Your children will be supervised by adults not currently in a bubble with other children. Children will be encouraged to socially distance and will be in groups of children they know.

We plan to open this up on the following dates- weather permitting. If the weather is not suitable, we will send a text by 10.30am to advise you of postponement.

Year Group

Date

Year 1

Tuesday 23rd June 2020

Year 2

Wednesday 24th June 2020

We will send you details next week of when other year groups (Years 3, 4 and 5) can come in, weather permitting. We aim to have each year group in twice before the end of school. We are really looking forward to seeing as many children as possible.

We wish you a very good weekend. We hope the weather is kinder than it has been this week.

Best wishes,

Ruby Grey
