Letter to Parents - 12th June

12 June 2020 (by Jodie Binch (Jbinch))

12th June, 2020

Dear all,

This is an update letter after the Government’s announcement that not all children will be returning to school this term.

This letter lays out the steps we are planning to take for your children from now until we break up:

  • We will be inviting Y6 back in the near future. We will send out information with more details about this on Monday.
  • We have applied for a grant -which has now been accepted- which will enable us to expand our use of Microsoft Teams to the children at home. We will send more details when we have all of the relevant information.
  • Children moving through Key Stages (Reception, Year 2 and Year 4) will still receive their graduation medals; they will be delivered to you at the end of term. Year 6 will receive Leavers’ Hoodies.
  • Teachers will still pick their super star winners to win caps and these will be delivered to them at the end of term.

We are endeavouring to ensure that every child gets a personal goodbye from their current teacher and a personal hello from their new teacher before the end of the year.

Here is a list of what we are currently doing and will continue to do:

  • Planning and sending home work for children via Dojo or email
  • Planning and providing work books for children from the school bus
  • Staff are still available via Dojo and email message to support your children (please be aware that as more children come into school, staff will only be available outside of school hours)
  • Calling home to check on children and their families who are not at school
  • Free School Meal vouchers

Please note that staff welcome contact from children via Dojo or email. Many children have sent photographs of work and activities done. This is a great way for us to give feedback on work done. Children are also welcome to send in work they are unsure of for the teacher to help them with (take a picture and dojo/email it). We are unable to accept paper homework because of Coronavirus controls.

We wish you a very good weekend. We hope the weather is kinder than it has been this week.

Best wishes,

Ruby Grey
