Attendance

At our school, we value regular attendance and punctuality, every day really does count. Arriving on time helps children start the day calmly, ready to learn, and fully engaged in their morning lessons.

Our school gate is open from 8:25am to 8:30am. Arriving within this time allows children to settle quickly and make the most of their learning opportunities.

We understand that there may be times when your child is too unwell to attend school. The NHS provides helpful guidance on when children should stay at home and when they can still attend. You can view this advice here:

Is My Child Too ill For School?

This page outlines common childhood illnesses and helps parents make informed decisions. Please note that minor illnesses such as colds or mild headaches don’t usually require time off.

If you have any concerns about attendance, please contact Miss Wilkinson.

EBSA

Does your child find it hard to go to school?
Sometimes children struggle to attend school because of worries or emotional distress, this is known as EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance). It’s not about refusal or misbehaviour, but a sign your child may need extra understanding and support. If you feel this fits your child, please contact Miss Wilkinson so we can see how we can support you.

School attendance is a priority for our school and we are constantly monitoring pupil attendance.

We want to work together with parents/carers to help ensure excellent attendance and punctuality for all pupils from an early age.

The following information shows how school attendance can affect your child’s future progress.
