Parent's Evening Survey

14 May 2021 (by Jodie Binch (Jbinch))

Dear all

Thank you to all of you who replied to our parents’ evening survey. We are going to use that information to plan our future parents’ evenings and would like to share the findings with you.

YOU SAID - 74% said that they would prefer parents’ evening to be online again with reasons

being:

  • Much better than being in the corridors at school.
  • Time slots didn’t over run as much.
  • More convenient

WE WILL - now move to online parents’ evenings in the future. (Please keep reading for other alterations)

YOU SAID - The largest section of feedback was around wanting to be able to see children’s work.

WE WILL - endeavour, wherever possible, to have open classroom sessions some time before parents’ evenings so that you have the opportunity to come in to see your child’s books and talk to them about their learning. (This is Covid dependent in line with risk assessments).

YOU SAID - Some parents wanted a longer slot than five minutes.

WE WILL - The slots online are actually ten minutes in length, this is why we changed to being over two days, unfortunately, the system email sends a message to you saying five minutes, but you do have the full ten minutes if you want them.

YOU SAID - Some parents wanted to discuss the wider curriculum and not just reading, writing and maths.

WE WILL - As we have a brand-new curriculum coming from September 2021, the wider curriculum will be discussed at Parents’ evenings as we will be having History, Geography, Art etc weeks within school every term.

Thank you for your feedback, as you can see, it does inform our planning so please keep responding to our surveys.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs Grey and Your Woodland View Family.
