Roman Day

15 March 2021 (by Jodie Binch (Jbinch))

15th March 2021

Dear Year 4 Parents,

This half-term we are learning all about the Romans so we are planning to do a whole Roman Day on Tuesday 23rd March.

We will centre all of our learning throughout the day around Roman history and imagine life as a Roman.

We invite your children to dress like a Roman for the day, so they can dress as a Roman soldier (no swords or shields), a Roman emperor or any other ideas you have. If they decide to wear sandals, it is recommended they also bring trainers to change in to for break time, and coats in case the weather is not Roman friendly. If you do not want to dress as a Roman, please still wear school uniform.

We will also have a Roman dinner for that day, so the dinner menu for that day will be all Roman themed. If you would like your child to try this, you can book a meal on schoolmoney, in the usual way.

Roman Menu

Main:  Meat or Veggie Roman Burger with Roman Vegetable Sticks

Dessert:  Ancient Roman Tiger Date Balls

If you know your child will not enjoy this meal, they can still bring in a packed lunch. Throughout the day we will be looking at life as a Roman and the more children that join in the more epic of a day it will feel.

Kind regards, Year 4 team.
