Woodland View Primary School

Governor's Welcome

On behalf of the Governing Body, it is my pleasure to welcome you to what we hope will be a happy and educationally beneficial time at Woodland View Primary School.

The Governors take their responsibilities very seriously, and work closely with the Headteacher making decisions about how Woodland View Primary School can successfully meet its challenges, and we ask for your support in our endeavours.

We, as School Governors, have legal duties, powers and responsibilities that we must exercise as a body. No Governor can act individually and committees provide a mechanism for making these decisions.

The governing body have decided to have 6 meetings every year, one every half term. Each meeting is professionally. These meetings ensure that each of the below headings are discussed and monitored over the course of the year.

  • Pupils and Personnel
  • Finance & General Purpose
  • Strategic Development

Our Governing Body:

  • Mr John Wilson - Chair of Governors
  • Mrs Elizabeth Eastburn - Co-opted Governor
  • Mrs Janet Lander - Co-opted Governor
  • Mrs Kelly Bacon - Parent Governor
  • Mr Nick Woods - Parent Governor
  • Mrs Natasha Bingley - Parent Governor
  • Clerk to the Governors - Ruth Palmer

The Governing Body are experienced and knowledgeable in various fields of expertise. They are supportive of the school, its staff and pupils, and carry out their duties with consideration. They visit the classrooms to increase their understanding of how children learn and each Governor is linked to a subject.

We believe that successful education is the result of a positive home/school partnership, and we assure you that at all times decisions made reflect our aim of trying to meet the needs of all our pupils.

We are all very proud of the achievements of our school and have included within this website a link to the Ofsted web page which shows the school's most recent Ofsted Inspection. I am sure that you will enjoy reading this great report.

The governors look forward to working with you, to maintain and further develop the school's standards of achievement and high level of care given to each of our pupils and we ask for your support in all our endeavours.
