Woodland View Primary School

Admission Arrangments

We wish to make the children's time at Woodland View Primary School, happy and profitable and therefore work hard at making their admission a positive and supportive process.

A series of pre-visits for children starting school are arranged to make a smooth and secure introduction to full time education. If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

Apply for a place

Children may join our Foundation Unit at the beginning of the term after their 3rd birthday.

Once you have decided that you would like your child to attend our F1 unit, you will be asked to complete a registration form to give us information and contact details.  This is so that we can contact you regarding your child's  place and keep you up to date with transition dates closer to the time.  It is vital that you inform us of any change of details.  The form includes an opportunity for you to inform us of any Special Educational Needs or Medical Conditions that your child may have.

During the Autumn term before your child is eligible to start school full time you will be sent a letter from Nottinghamshire County Council asking you to state your school preferences.  It is vital that this form is completed and returned to Notts County Council as your child will allocated to any school that has spaces available.  The form asks that you list 3 schools.

You will be notified of your child's placement the following April.  Our school has no say in how places are allocated.  However there is an appeals process which parents can access.
